Book a first session

How it works

  1. Book a first session in the booking calendar.
  2. Join by video from your room, the library or anywhere private.
  3. Agree on a plan with your psychologist, and meet every week.

You and your psychologist are in the same time zone. The time you book is the time in Lisbon and Porto.

Yes. Lon Clinic's psychologists licensed by the Portuguese Board of Psychologists (EU), seeing clients online from Portugal. Under EU Directive 2011/24/EU, telemedicine is provided in the Member State where the provider is established, which for us is Portugal. More on the rules.

In a crisis

Online therapy is not an emergency service. In Portugal, call 112 in an emergency, or SNS 24 (808 24 24 24, option 4) for psychological support, available in English, 24 hours a day.

Frequently asked questions

Is it confidential? Will my university know?

No. Sessions are private and we don't share anything with your university.

Can I continue when I go back home?

Yes. If you live in the EU, you can keep the same psychologist online.

Do I need a referral?

No. You book directly.

Do the psychologists speak English?

Yes. All our psychologists are members of the Portuguese Board of Psychologists (Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses) and speak English. Sessions in Portuguese or Spanish are also possible.

Does online therapy work as well as in person?

For anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, research shows results similar to in-person therapy, as long as you have a stable connection and a private space.
