Companies › Burnout prevention programme for companies
My team's productivity has dropped. What could be going on?
Updated · Lon Clinic
Short answer: a drop in productivity usually has one of five causes: overload and burnout, unclear goals, conflict, blocking tools or processes, or low motivation. Often people are present but exhausted (presenteeism), which accounts for most of the productivity lost to poor mental health.
How to find the cause
| Sign | Likely cause |
|---|---|
| More mistakes, visible tiredness | Overload or burnout |
| Work done, but in the wrong direction | Unclear goals |
| Tense meetings | Conflict |
| Tasks waiting on someone | Process or tools |
| Little initiative | Low motivation or recognition |
To check for burnout, see signs of employee burnout and my team is exhausted.
