Companies › Burnout prevention programme for companies

What wellbeing programme should I offer my employees in Ireland?

Updated · Lon Clinic

Short answer: the right programme depends on what your team is dealing with. If there's exhaustion, resignations or conflict, choose one that starts by measuring burnout and gives access to a doctor and psychologist. If the team is well and you want to prevent problems, combine yearly screening, manager training and support for sleep, nutrition and activity. Make sure it feeds into your risk assessment under the 2005 Act.

What a good programme includes

  1. An anonymous baseline screening (burnout and psychosocial risks).
  2. An aggregated report for leadership, with 3 to 5 actions.
  3. Fast access to psychology and medical consultations.
  4. Nutrition and habits support, especially for shift work or long hours.
  5. Manager training to recognise early signs.
  6. A second measurement after 6 to 12 months.

In Ireland, keep in mind

  • The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 requires psychosocial hazards to be included in your risk assessment and safety statement. See psychosocial risk assessment in Ireland.
  • The WRC Code of Practice on the Right to Disconnect.

LON Clinic delivers this online, in English, from a clinic registered in Portugal. See also how to choose a wellbeing provider.
